Summer Time Is Here On Lake Guntersville. The Bass Have Been Biting In Windows And The Crappie Are Biting Through Out The Day. Water Temps are Creeping Up to 87-90 On Hotter Days. Clarity Is Mixed Through Out It Just Depends Which Part Of The Lake You’re On.
The bass are starting to get on a feeding schedule and it’s something we normally see in June. Soft plastics have been best for us most of the day, and then there’s days where they want a football jig. Mrs. Blackwood had a day. When Mr. Blackwood booked this trip he said I just want her to catch them , well she did and lost a few that would’ve been nice to get a picture with! Overall we left them biting on a few spots because I wanted her to cast on other key spots that are holding some big ones.
Crappie have been pretty dependable with great size and numbers. Took out ol Bertus and Little Bertus for a morning crappie trip, it didn’t take long before we was doubling up on them. Lilttle Bertus had to show us that he was indeed a Bertus by catching two bass while we was after crappie.
Here’s some more pics.
As the grass starts to mat up it’s time to start to plan for the fall froggin n flippin trips there’s more hydrilla growing this year then in the last 7 years so we are anticipating some good mat fishing.
