Guntersville 2024 the pre-spawn bite is looking great after having some ice on the lake, knocking some shad down the bass have been feeding nicely and are getting fat. The lake appears to be really healthy. We have a lot of bass now and some really big ones. Still a lot of Hydrilla and of course the eelgrass for the bass to hide in.
Guntersville’s water has been pretty stained from the recent rains, and the water temperatures of varied from 45 to 50 and have seen the highs of 55 and some of the creeks. TVA Has been rolling the current for several weeks. This always seems to move the fish around from where they’ve been wintering. I think it puts the bass in a swimming mode, trying to find the next comfortable home. With that being said, you can still catch them many different ways but with this warming trend, we are on right now these bass are making a mad dash to the bank. It’s been several years ago that we had similar patterns and I remember we went through a five week span where at least one fish weighed over nine each week. With the biggest being 11 lbs. 8 oz. That was caught by long-time client, Mike Harvey it was a crazy time but it was sure fun maybe we will see that once again.
This past week we have been finding the bass scattered around areas. It has not been easy with a lot of casting and changing of lures the bass have not been real active. But that will soon be changing as our days get longer and warmer.
We are just now getting ramped up for the fishing and season Capt Myles had a trip that produce really well. We will post more pictures in our next report.
