Lake Guntersville is still fishing strong despite some cold nights and chilly winds. These conditions haven’t slowed down the bass much; while they may pause after a cold front, they quickly bounce back and are still biting hard.
Grass fishing has been key lately, and the right bait in the right grass depth can make all the difference. If you’re looking to fine-tune your grass fishing techniques, check out Mastering Fishing Grass Beds on Lake Guntersville for expert tips on bait selection and presentation.
We’ve had some days with quality over quantity—where every bite is over three pounds—and others where limits are pushing 25+ pounds. March is upon us, and we’re entering what I like to call the Madness of March. This is one of the best times of the year to land a trophy bass. If you’re chasing that big one, don’t miss Why March is Perfect for Trophy Bass Fishing in Alabama to learn exactly why this month is so special.
Water temps have been fluctuating, which is impacting where the fish are setting up. Some days the water temperature jumps, and the fish follow suit. Forecast: As the weather warms, expect more movement from bass, especially in shallower waters. While we’re not quite at the full shallow-water push yet, the warming temperatures will encourage bass to migrate towards protected, warmer areas. Though we might experience a cold snap, the fishing will just keep improving from here. The best days of March are just around the corner!
