Guntersville Fishing 5.4.23

Lake Guntersville Has Been Fishing Extremely Well This Year (give or take a few bad days ) The Weather Has Been Mild So Far And Keeping The Water Temps Below 70 Degrees and that has effected the Shad spawn so far. Maybe that’ll happen still but I’m not counting on it .

We had a young angler break his personal best it weighed 8lbs 8oz

The Bass are doing a lot of different things, we have most of them post spawn and still a good many spawning, the bream are on bed and there are some nice bass around the bream beds. The offshore bite is there but it’s just not totally wide open yet.

The Crappie Have Been Biting Good The Most Recent Trip (yesterday) Is Pictured Below.

James & Capt Jim fished the Capt. D’s tournament and finished 5th with 21-09lbs out of 240+ boats.

Capts Myles,Mike,Phillip, & Scott have had some awesome days. I feel like to have success at anything you have to have the right people & I can say these guys I just mention are hands down the best . They put our clients on fish day in and day out. The years of experience we have here is priceless.

Guntersville Bass Report 4.9.23

It’s Been A Great Week Here On Guntersville! The weather has started to get right and the bass appreciated it but not as much as our clients did. Seen a Personal Best Broken Twice In One Day, 40,50,60 bass days, crappie limits, and some giant striped bass!

Personal Best Bass was caught twice with-in minutes for this young Minnesota angler while fishing with Capt.Scott they also had great numbers all 3 days they spent together. Slipped in a Crappie trip this week as well, had a limit pretty quick and some slabs for the freezer.

Numbers let’s talk about Capt. Phillips two days with this couple from New Jersey! 101 Bass this was exactly what they needed ! Just look at their catch there was some quality bass caught.

Green Bass in the morning to Striped ones in the afternoon Capt. Myles has been getting high numbers of largemouth bass mixing in some quality as well then he has been going after some big striped bass in the afternoons this is a new service for Guntersville Bass Guides it will go well with our Big Bass Mentality. Capt.Myles has added airport shuttle to his list of services. His clients flew into the Guntersville airport where picked them up and brought them back after their fishing trip.

Capt. Mike has been steady with clients catching quality bass and providing the best trip possible. We think he has the bass named with all his time on the water and knowing when to make that move to keep putting fish in the boat.

Capt.Jim’s clients had some pretty good size bass to go with their numbers. They had many over 4lbs and one 6 and a half man it was just a fun week watching them reel them bass in. Want to wish my Dad (Steve) a HAPPY BIRTHDAY 69 Years Young April 9th

Water Temps have been 62-68 this week and water clarity is a good 3 foot

Bass are starting to lock on and they are still coming everyday.

We are catching majority of our bass dragging baits. Also had some eat Topwater baits. With the post spawn approaching quickly the topwater action should be great and offshore bite will be here before you know it . May June and July are fun times to be on Guntersville and if you have new electronics or new boat and would like to learn how to locate offshore bass then we do offer a class for that as well. Madness Of March 3/23

Had A Solid Week. With Some Guntersville Pre Spawn Bass. Water Temps Are Warming Up Once Again And Things Will Be Very Interesting Next Week For Sure!

Temp 55-58 degrees and water has 2-3ft visibility

Fred from New Jersey caught his first largemouth and it was a good one. And Zack had a dang good day he even let me fish with him, we had a five good ones and about 20 others that was fun to catch . ( thanks for letting me fish Zack )

Guntersville Bass n Crappie March Cold Front

Here We Are After One Of The Nastiest Cold Fronts You Could Possible Have. With 3 Weeks Of Nice Weather ( 70s & 80s degrees ) We Get Slammed With Low 30s & Wind. All the progress of the spawn has been put on hold, at least for a few more days. This week we are expected to see temps in the high 70s so things will start to get moving back in the right direction.

Fishing had gotten tough with a lot of the bigger ones being difficult to catch our clients have tricked a couple into biting.

Water temps 54-57 in most parts right now Water clarity is 2-3 foot and some areas are stained from this high winds

Crappie! The crappie didn’t care about the weather they bit good and some pretty dang big ones too. ( see pics below ) It’s been fun and the slabs fill up a freezer pretty good too! Client caught a 2.30lb Crappie!

It’s all looking good from here on out that should be the last of the brutal cold! And I know I’m ready for warmer weather and the bass are for sure.

Madness Of March Has Begun 2023

Above Temperatures Has The Bass With Only One Thing On Their Mind…. So If You’re Waiting Till April To Catch Them Off The Spawning Flats Then You’ll More Then Likley Miss The Party! We had a angler break his personal best twice in one day!

You can tell it has things a bit messed up with one day you’re catching them good and the next day you’re catching bass but not many and they are above average. It’ll be like that for a little while till it all catches up.

With Water Temp In The Low 60’s it been great weather to go fishing for both Bass And Crappie!

Boyd Beats Best Bass

Boyd Haynes Knoxville ,TN Catches His Personal Best Bass On Lake Guntersville. Boyd a longtime client of Guntersville Bass Guides (9 years) caught his personal best bass the morning of January 19th 2023 it was also his first bass of the new year. Thats kicking the year off right. His Bass weighed 7.23 LBS he caught several more bass that day nothing like his first bass but it was a great day.

Guntersville is looking good for the grass, the amount of the good grass is the best I’ve seen in years. We still have that Eel grass and on certain days its the deal. We’ve been doing our best on quality, our average size has been up compared to other years around this time of year. The bass are using the grass like they should and when you get that 1st one to go then get ready for some fast action since they are in small groups and feeding good at certain times of the day. We have several way to catch them at the moment so its a good time to catch some bass.

Water Temps: 48-51 degrees with water clarity 1-2 feet

February is looking like it will be a great time to go after the big ones. And of course March is the top month for big ones based on our opinion even though February has put out some giants as well… Don’t think you can go wrong with either month.

James and Capt. Jim fished the New Years Day Open and took 2nd with 23.26lbs and 1st was 23.41lbs talk about it being close …

What A Summer On Guntersville

Guntersville Gave Up Some Big Bass The Past Few Months And We Enjoyed Immensely! We saw a solid deep bite that lasted for a good time. Seen schools like we did back many years ago and they bit didn’t have to work to hard to have a big bag day in and day out. I even got in some weeknight tournaments having 16lbs in 3 bass was just fun and throwing back countless 4 pounders! Clients had days they’ll remember for a long time to come! Got to take two members of the Brittish Parliament and Congressman Robert Aderholt Fishing one evening it was honor to do so, also took 3 gentlemen that are 100% Native Indians learned so much about them and their tribe.

Be sure to check out our pics. We have to focus on what we hope to be a year we all have been waiting on. Froggin….. Seeing a lot of grass topped out and its the good grass now all we need are some cold nights and cold fronts and things will get interesting. September and October Should produce so awesome frogging.

Guntersville In All 3 Stages

April Has Been Pretty Good. With Some Nice Bass Being Caught! The weather is now on a warming trend and it has kicked the spawn into high gear, its seemed like the bass have been wanting to move up but it seemed like the cold fronts just kept coming and some of the bass did stay up and finished their deal.

All 3 stages are happening, more spawning then pre spawn and some post spawn, Water temps are 67-72 degrees.

In the coming weeks and if the weather keeps warming the bass will begin to make their move deep and by the end of May it should be some good ledge fishing.

No Place Like Guntersville

Guntersville Has Been Fishing Rather Good With The Amount Of Unstable Weather. Our Guides have kept up with the bass the past few weeks with long days that are paying off daily with some nice Lake Guntersville Bass.

The Bass have started to spawn but there are still a lot that have just started to move in so I look for the next few weeks to be wide open.

Water temps 58-61 degrees and clarity is fairly good just depends if the wind has been a factor in the area.

Capt.Mike had caught a 9lb 8oz big girl then went back the next day and caught her again. Pretty cool
